CLOONEY GIVES ITALIAN EARTHQUAKE CITY A MOVIE BOOST

GEORGE CLOONEY has given the people of L'Aquila, Italy a boost as they try to recover from an April (09) earthquake - he plans to shoot his next film there.

George Clooney speaking at the Newseum and the American University School of Communication where George Clooney joined Bill Small, chairman of news and documentary Emmys at the National Television Academy in a discussion and screening of the 2005 film 'Good Night, and Good Luck.' The movie hunk, who owns a vacation home on the banks of Lake Como in Italy, visited the devastated Italian city on Thursday (09Jul09), and thrilled locals with his film news.

He said, "We'll shoot a film here at the end of September, in which I will act," adding he hoped the project would help revive the area's economy.

During his whistle-stop helicopter visit to L'Aquila, Clooney also met many of those left homeless by the earthquake, which killed more than 300 people.
