CHOPRA QUESTIONS THE ACTIONS OF JACKSON'S DOCTOR

MICHAEL JACKSON's friend DEEPAK CHOPRA has become the latest person to question the actions of the late pop superstar's doctor, who spent 30 minutes performing CPR on the unconscious singer before calling emergency services.

Dr. Conrad Murray reportedly could not find a phone in Jackson's rented Holmby Hills home in Los Angeles and only used his mobile to call for help when he was sure of the address.

Jackson died on Thursday (25Jun09) after suffering a cardiac arrest allegedly brought on by an overdose of prescription pills.

Dr. Murray performed CPR on the singer, who was lying on his bed, before paramedics arrived to take the star to hospital.

Experts have questioned why Murray didn't pull Jackson to the floor, where CPR would have been more effective - and many are questioning why he waited 30 minutes to call for help.

And now spiritualist and revered medic Chopra has offered his thoughts, and he's puzzled as to why Jackson's personal physician didn't reach for withdrawal drug Narcan as soon as he realised the King of Pop was unconscious from a possible drug overdose.

He says, "Any emergency room or any doctor who sees a doctor with an overdose, the first thing they do is give Narcan... Within minutes you see a response."

But, in a new twist, Dr. Murray's lawyer, Edward Chernoff, has suggested Jackson's death may not have been caused by a drug overdose - and the results of post-autopsy tests on the pop star's body will show his client's actions were the right ones.

The attorney says, "I believe when the toxicology (results) come back, you're not going to find narcotics."
