Ticketholders for MICHAEL JACKSON's comeback shows in London will receive full refunds - if they purchased through authorised agents.
Michael Jackson Press conference and tour announcement held at the O2 Arena. London, England - 05.03.09
Jackson was booked to play a sell-out run of 50 gigs at the U.K. capital's O2 Arena, starting next month (Jul09) and running into 2010, with the 750,000 seats selling out in record time when they went on sale earlier in the year (09).
Fans who bought tickets were left in limbo when they discovered the King Of Pop had passed away last week (25Jun09) from a cardiac arrest, aged 50.
Internet auction site eBay quickly announced that tickets bought through them would be refunded in full to the purchaser.
And now the show's promoters AEG Live have declared similar plans, telling fans that they would be entitled to a full refund, plus any booking fees incurred.
AEG boss Randy Phillips says in a statement, "The world lost a kind soul who just happened to be the greatest entertainer the world has ever known.
"Since he loved his fans in life, it is incumbent upon us to treat them with the same reverence and respect after his death."
From Wednesday (01Jul09), devotees with tickets will need to go to Jackson's official website for information about how to receive full refunds. The offer will be valid until 14 August (09).
But fans are also being given the option of still getting their tickets - designed by Jackson himself - to keep as memorabilia in lieu of receiving all of their money back.
