JACKSON DOCTOR DENIES WRONGDOING

The lawyer representing MICHAEL JACKSON's doctor has denied reports the medic gave the star a drug injection before he died.

The King Of Pop passed away on Thursday (25Jun09) after suffering a cardiac arrest, aged 50.

Tabloid reports have claimed Jackson was given a shot of the strong painkiller Demerol by his personal doctor Conrad Murray shortly before his breathing became laboured at his Los Angeles home.

But Murray's lawyer has slammed the claims, branding them "absolutely false".

Attorney Edward Chernoff tells the Los Angeles Times, "There was no Demerol. No OxyContin."

And Chernoff also reveals that Jackson was found with a pulse by Murray - who attempted to revive him by performing CPR.

He tells the Associated Press, "He just happened to find him in his bed, and he wasn't breathing. Mr. Jackson was still warm and had a pulse."

Murray handed himself over to police on Saturday afternoon (27Jun09) to explain the circumstances surrounding the star's tragic demise.

And Chernoff adds that his client is as baffled as everyone else as to Jackson's passing: "He was the one who suggested the autopsy to the family while they were still in the hospital. He didn't understand why Michael Jackson had died."
