ROSS' TEARS FOR JACKSON

DIANA ROSS is failing to comprehend the death of her longterm friend MICHAEL JACKSON - insisting her heart is aching with grief.

The singer had been close pals with Jackson ever since she introduced his family group The Jackson 5 to prominence in the 1960s.

The group went on to enjoy runaway worldwide success and Ross kept in touch with former Motown labelmate Jackson when he went solo in the 1970s.

The pair also starred together in 1978 musical movie The Wiz.

Now Ross is in mourning following the King of Pop's unexpected death on Thursday (25Jun09) - and is struggling to cope with the heartbreaking news.

She says, "I can't stop crying. This is too sudden and shocking. I am unable to imagine this. My heart is hurting. I am in prayer for his kids and the family."
