YUSUF ISLAM is to return to Los Angeles for a rare performance to honour movie legend HAL ASHBY.
The Muslim convert, aka Cat Stevens, performed his first concert in Los Angeles for 35 years last month (May09) and now he'll play songs he recorded for the soundtrack of Ashby's cult film Harold & Maude at a tribute night next week (25Jun09).
Ashby fans Cameron Crowe, Judd Apatow, Seth Rogen and Jon Voight will also be on hand to muse about the director, while Rosanna Arquette, Amy Heckerling and Winona Ryder are expected to attend the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences gala.
