JENKINS FEELS 'GUILTY' OVER SECRET HALF-SISTERS' HARASSMENT

Opera star KATHERINE JENKINS has broken her silence over news she has two secret half-sisters, insisting she doesn't blame her mother for keeping their identities from her.

The Welsh singer found out she had twin siblings, who are almost twice her age, when a British newspaper uncovered the family secret earlier this year (09).

Her late dad Selwyn and her mum Susan never told her or her younger sister she had more siblings - from her father's first marriage - and Jenkins, who has yet to meet the 56-year-old women, feels guilty about the fact her half-sisters have become a media item in the U.K..

She says, "The first time I saw pictures of my sisters was in a national newspaper, which was upsetting for me. I feel sorry for them that they've got dragged into my world, because I don't think they wanted it. I wanted to send them some flowers or something to say sorry. I'm amazed we've not met before."

And Jenkins insists she understands why her mother refused to talk about her stepdaughters: "Mum's like me, we don't like to argue. If something's an uncomfortable subject for us, we'd rather sidestep it."
