MCCREADY HEADING FOR REHAB

Troubled country star MINDY MCCREADY is heading for rehab - and her recovery will be televised.

The singer has been selected as a cast member for the new season of VH1 reality series Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew.

She'll tackle her drink and drugs demons during treatment at the Pasadena Recovery Center in California.

Joining McCready will be former Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss, Dennis Rodman and former Alice in Chains bassist Mike Starr.

As previously reported, actress Mackenzie Phillips will appear on the hit U.S. show as a sober coach, less than a year after checking in for her 10th stint in rehab following a cocaine possession arrest.

McCready has had a tough start to the new century after becoming a country music hitmaker in the late 1990s with songs like Ten Thousand Angels - she was arrested in 2004 for fraudulently procuring a prescription painkiller and she was charged with driving under the influence in 2005.

And, in 2008, the singer made an alleged suicide attempt, admitted to conducting a long-term affair with New York Yankees baseball star Roger Clemens, and was arrested in June (08) for violating her probation for prescription drug fraud.

She also checked into rehab in July (08) with some reports suggesting she had swallowed a lethal combination of vodka and prescription drug Ambien, used to treat insomnia.
