ALFAMEGA CHARGED WITH GUN FELONY
Rapper ALFAMEGA came to terms with his dismissal from hip-hop star T.I.'s Grand Hustle Records label last week (beg04May09) in a jail cell - he was behind bars on gun charges.
The star - real name Cedric Zellars - was stopped by police last month (29Apr09) and during a routine search of his vehicle cops claim to have discovered a loaded pistol.
Zellars allegedly became "combative and non-compliant" and tried to flee. Officers reportedly used pepper spray to try and stop the Uh-Huh hitmaker but he continued his escape before cops were forced to use police batons in an attempt to capture him.
He was finally caught after he climbed over a garage wall, and jumped "25-30 feet to the ground," which resulted in the rapper breaking his ankle, according to the Smoking Gun.
Zellars was booked into a Fulton County, Atlanta jail, and charged with two counts of felony obstruction and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
He was released on bail on Saturday (09May09). If his case is picked up by federal prosecutors, he faces up to 10 years in prison.
Zellars was last week (beg04May09) at the centre of allegations he passed information to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration during the investigation of a heroin trafficker and as a result T.I. ditched his protege from his music label.
