WINEHOUSE COLLAPSES IN CARIBBEAN
Troubled singer AMY WINEHOUSE is recovering in hospital in the Caribbean after collapsing at her holiday villa.
The Back to Black hitmaker - who is currently enjoying an extended sunshine break in St. Lucia - was admitted to a medical facility on the island on Friday night (01May09) suffering from dehydration.
She remains under the care of doctors and is expected to be released over the weekend (02-03May09), according to her spokesman.
The health scare comes nearly three months after she was previously rushed to hospital in St. Lucia in February (09) after suffering an adverse reaction to her prescription medication.
But a rep for the star puts the latest incident down to the singer spending too much time in the scorching heat and not drinking enough fluids.
He tells British newspaper The Sun, "Amy fainted after being out in the sun and without drinking water. She has been taking part in a lot of activities which also played a part."
The rep adds, "It turned out it wasn't a reaction to her medication, she was actually dehydrated. So she's been told to drink lots of water and hopefully she will be released later."
