PRATT BUYS MONTAG $250,000 WEDDING GIFT

Groom-to-be SPENCER PRATT will make sure his bride looks like quarter-of-a-million dollars when they wed in Pasadena, California on Saturday (25Apr09) - he has bought her a cache of stunning Neil Lane jewellery.

It was reported that the The Hills star Heidi Montag's necklaces, earrings and bracelets would be on-loan - but her generous fiance and co-star has treated her to them, according to America's In Touch magazine.

Montag will wear a dress designed by Monique Lhuillier when the reality TV couple exchange vows and platinum rings in a ceremony at the Westminster Presbyterian Church.

There are still questions being asked about the authenticity of the nuptials - the couple staged a commitment ceremony in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico in November (08) and refused to make the union a legal one upon their return to America.

And now sources tell In Touch that Saturday's (25Apr09) wedding is nothing more than a phony ceremony for the series finale of The Hills.

An insider tells the publication, "It's all set up by the producers of MTV to get people to watch. It's just a plot line. They're not really getting married."

The magazine reports the wedding will be staged on a closed set with the entire The Hills cast in attendance.
