STEWART THRILLS BECK WITH STAGE SURPRISE

ROD STEWART wowed fans in Los Angeles on Tuesday night (21Apr09) when he showed up unannounced to perform with guitar great JEFF BECK during a show at the El Rey theatre.

Beck was visibly stunned when his former bandmate stepped out of the shadows and started singing along to covers of Curtis Mayfield's People Get Ready and Willie Dixon's I Ain't Superstitious - a song the pair recorded together for Jeff Beck Group's Truth album in the late 1960s.

Joss Stone also made an appearance, singing on a cover of Sly & the Family Stone's I Want to Take You Higher.
