OASIS SET FOR FIVE-YEAR BREAK OVER BROTHERLY BATTLES

British rockers OASIS are set to go their separate ways after the band's live shows this summer (09) - because brothers NOEL and LIAM GALLAGHER need time to repair their turbulent relationship.

The pair has long been famed for their feuding, but Noel Gallagher insists things are now so bad his brother hasn't even met his 19-month old nephew Donovan, Gallagher's son with Sara MacDonald.

And the guitarist is adamant that a five-year hiatus is the only way to rebuild the respect between the siblings.

He tells Britain's The Sun newspaper, "By the time we make another record we'll be five years older. He's never seen my little lad, just pictures. To a stranger it sounds ludicrous, but you wouldn't have him in the house if he spoke to you the way he speaks to me and my family.

"Liam is constantly developing techniques for balancing that f****** tambourine on his head.

"He's rude, arrogant, intimidating and lazy. He's the angriest man you'll ever meet. He's like a man with a fork in a world of soup."

Gallagher claims the breakdown in communication began when the group were recording its latest album Dig Out Your Soul in 2008, when Liam left the band in the studio to secretly wed longtime girlfriend Nicole Appleton.

He explains, "There's two great tracks lying there not finished from the last record, because of Liam f**king off to get married. That annoys the f**k out of me. We've got a 50-piece choir on both, they're enormous. There's no talking to be done. Maybe that's the problem - there's no fall-out from it. I never said to him, 'What are you doing?"
