APPLEGATE PUZZLED BY JOAN JETT SILENCE

Actress CHRISTINA APPLEGATE struck up an unlikely friendship with rocker JOAN JETT last summer (08) and has no idea why she was dropped.

The odd couple became email pals after meeting on the set of video skit I'm F**king Ben Affleck - and spent weeks texting each other, but then Jett stopped replying.

The Anchorman star says, "She was so awesome... and she and I became email buddies for quite a while - for, like, a few months.

"I haven't heard from her... I think she just got busy. She sent me a box of shirts and sweat shirts and stuff and that was kinda it.

"She was cool, she's a really cool lady."
