AMY WINEHOUSE's parents are thrilled the troubled star has found a new base in the Caribbean - because her estranged husband can't contact her there.

The Rehab hitmaker returned to the U.K. last month (Mar09) from an extended winter break in St. Lucia - and found time to speak to Blake Fielder-Civil, who filed for divorce from her in January (09).
But just 33 days later she returned to the island in a desperate bid to break her ties with Fielder-Civil once and for all.
And her parents were delighted - they are convinced the troubled singer can get her life back on track if she stays "out of harm's way" and splits from her husband for good.
The star's mother, Janis, tells Britain's Heat magazine, "I'm so glad she's away in St. Lucia as she's away from Blake. Thank goodness she can distance herself. He doesn't have her number out there.
"(When she returned to Britain) she was in touch with Blake, but personally, as her mother, I find him very controlling and manipulating. I think Amy is finally coming round to seeing that the marriage just isn't worth it. She's getting herself cleaned up, which says a lot, and she's really put her mind to getting her life back together.
"I'd be devastated if she got back with him. She doesn't need Blake in her life. She is getting used to the fact that he's not good for her."
And Janis also revealed Winehouse is considering living in St. Lucia full-time: "She's spoken a bit about moving there permanently, and I think it might do her the world of good."
She'll certainly be welcomed - upon her recent return to the Caribbean for the upcoming St. Lucia Jazz Festival, the island's Tourism Minister, Allen Chastanet, said, "She's welcome to stay as long as she wants to. We enjoy having her here."
