TOBY KEITH has pulled out of a new movie so he can visit U.S. troops posted in Afghanistan.
Toby Keith launches clothing line TK Steelman at his 'I Love This Bar and Grill' at Harrahs Hotel and Casino. Las Vegas, Nevada - 18.02.09
The singer/songwriter will embark on a 17-show USO/Armed Forces Entertainment tour at the end of the month (Apr09) - and that means he has no time for upcoming film, Provinces of Night, according to country news website CMT.com.
Keith's dedication to America's United Service Organization has earned him the Distinguished Service Award from the Military Officers Association of America. He'll pick up the honour on 21 April (09) in Washington, D.C.
The award recognises civilians who give back to military personnel.
The country singer says, "There aren't enough words to describe just how grateful I am to our nation's troops. I've participated in several USO tours over the years, and I've seen firsthand their sacrifice. And I will not stop doing all I can to show my support and lift their spirits."
