SPECTOR RETRIAL STALLED AGAIN

The PHIL SPECTOR murder retrial has been stalled by illness for the second time in a week.

Jury members were sent home at noon on Thursday (09Apr09) after one of the panel fell ill.

Another juror's influenza wiped out last week's (ends03Apr09) deliberations.

According to the Los Angeles TImes newspaper, the panel has deliberated for only 27 hours since it was handed the case on 26 March (09).

Spector, 69, faces second-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter charges in the fatal shooting of actress Lana Clarkson in 2003.

The record producer maintains Clarkson shot herself.
