MADONNA BUILDING AFRICAN HOME?

MADONNA is determined fulfil her dream of adopting another child from Malawi - the pop superstar is reportedly planning to build a family home in the African country.

The singer had her request for an interim adoption of three-year-old Mercy James turned down by a court in the country's capital Lilongwe last Friday (03Apr09).

The bid was reportedly rejected because of a requirement that prospective parents must be resident in Malawi for 18 to 24 months prior to an adoption.

And now the star, who is already building a school for girls in the country, is said to have instructed architects to sketch out plans for a house to accommodate the star and her family when they visit, according to British newspaper The Sun.

A source tells the publication, "Madonna has a big, beautiful plot of land over there already. She's planning to build a girl's school in the Chinkhota village and those designs are well under way.

'But she's gone back to the designers and asked if they could accommodate a family home on the plot or on adjacent land.'

Madonna's adoption of Malawian tot David Banda, three, was made official last year (08) following two years of legal wrangling. She is also mum to Rocco, eight, from her marriage to Guy Ritchie, and Lourdes, from a previous relationship.
