STEVE-O REFUSES PAIN MEDICATION
TV stuntman STEVE-O is battling a back injury in agony - because he fears taking prescribed painkillers could interfere with his recovery from drug addiction.
The Jackass star, who attended court-ordered rehab for substance abuse in 2008, was diagnosed with a hematoma last month (16Mar09) after taking a nasty tumble while rehearsing for U.S. reality series Dancing With The Stars.
But after celebrating the one-year anniversary of his sobriety in March (09), he worries it is too soon to be taking any medication.
He says, "I may have slipped on the dance floor but I'm not going to slip from my new life regime. I'm not comfortable taking any tablets at all. I'm just gritting my teeth and dealing with it.
