MILLER TURNS TO FANS FOR HELP COVERING LEGAL COSTS

Rapper COREY MILLER is appealing to fans online for donations to help cover his legal costs as he continues to fight a murder charge dating back to 2002.

Miller, formerly known as C-Murder, is awaiting a retrial on a second-degree murder charge relating to the death of a 16-year-old during a brawl at a New Orleans, Louisiana nightclub.

He was recently freed on $1 million (£684,930) bail - just weeks after allegedly breaking the rules of his house arrest relating to his upcoming trial - and is due back in court for a hearing on 20 April (09).

But he is struggling to stay on top of his legal fees and has launched a website to invite donations from generous fans.

The webpage CoreyMillerInnocenceFund.com has been registered to Miller's business partner Kernell Reynolds, the president of his label Tru Records.

Reynolds tells AllHipHop.com, "We established this because C hasn't been able to work in almost seven years because of the house arrest. It's not really fair. It's even more frustrating because he's under a gag order and can't publicly comment on anything about the case."

According to legal documents, Miller - the brother of rap mogul Percy 'Master P' Miller - has already been forced to turn to five people to help raise his bond money.

The establishment of the fund comes just a day after a judge ordered Miller remove all cordless phones in his house, which the star claimed was causing his monitoring equipment to malfunction. He maintains he never violated the terms of his house detention, insisting he was asleep at the time of his alleged offence.
