Reformed rockers THE DEAD proved they're very much alive on Monday (06Apr09) when they performed three club concerts in one night.
Original members Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Bill Kreutzmann and Mickey Hart rocked for free in Manhattan, New York after giving fans just three days notice of the warm-up shows.
The night began with an acoustic set at Angel Orensanz and continued with packed houses at the Gramercy Theatre and Roseland Ballroom.
Fans received tickets for each of the shows via an online lottery.
The group is in New York rehearsing for an upcoming spring tour.
