TRUJILLO TO PLAY WITH METALLICA AT HALL OF FAME CEREMONY

METALLICA will be a two-bass beast when the rockers perform after their Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction on Saturday (04Apr09) - ROBERT TRUJILLO has decided to join the man he replaced onstage.

Former bandmember Jason Newsted recently revealed he'd be stepping in to replace Trujillo, so Metallica could revamp its 'Black Album' line-up from the early 1990s, but it now seems the group's current bassist will be a part of the celebration in Cleveland, Ohio.

A spokesman for the band says, "Jason and Robert will both be playing Metallica's induction songs."

The band will jet in to the ceremony from Paris, France, where it'll perform on Thursday night (02Apr09). The current line-up plans to rehearse with Newsted on Friday (03Apr09).

Newsted understood he'd be the only Metallica bass player onstage, but he's more than happy to team up with Trujillo. He told Billboard.com, "I felt strongly they should go as that band and represent because... They're strong right now together."

Joining Metallica in the Class of 2009 at the Hall of Fame will be: Run-DMC, Jeff Beck, Little Anthony & the Imperials, Bobby Womack, Wanda Jackson and 'sidemen' Bill Black, DJ Fontana and Spooner Oldham.
