The One hitmakers are embarking on a mammoth trek, which kicks off in Barcelona, Spain on 30 June (09), before heading to the U.S. in September (09).

And the generous stars are set to give away up to nine million Euros ($11.9 million/£8.3 million) to a leading Aids organisation.

Bono and his bandmates will hand over all of the revenue from VIP auction ticket sales at up to 100 worldwide concerts.

Up to 600 stage-front tickets per gig are set to be sold off, with minimum starting bids of between 95 Euros ($126/£88) and 1,015 Euros ($1,347/£940), with monies being given to Global Fund, which helps fight AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria in Africa.

The band's spokeswoman says, "All of U2's income raised from the auction of Red Zone tickets will be donated to charity."
