OASIS rocker NOEL GALLAGHER is begging British TV bosses to cast him in his favourite soap opera CORONATION STREET.
The guitarist admits he and girlfriend Sara MacDonald are obsessed with the long-running show - which is set in his hometown of Manchester - and a cameo role would fulfil a lifelong ambition.
The 41-year-old says, "Me and Sarah watch Coronation Street religiously. It's such an institution, that programme - why they've never asked me to be in it is really one of the scandals of our age.
"I could just have a walk-on part, a tiny little bit in Coronation Street would be brilliant."
Gallagher wouldn't be the first celebrity fan to land a role in the show - Sir Ian McKellen took on a recurring part back in 2005, after outing himself as a devotee.
