TOM JONES' CHARITY TRACK ATOP U.K. CHARTS

Welsh singing legend TOM JONES has helped push a British charity single to the top of the U.K. charts.

The It's Not Unusual veteran makes a cameo vocal appearance on the Comic Relief single, a cover of Dolly Parton's Islands in the Stream, alongside Rob Brydon and Ruth Jones - the stars of hit U.K. comedy series Gavin and Stacey.

Proceeds from the sales of the single will go towards the charity, which raises funds each year for good causes in Britain as well as in Africa.

The track knocked U.S. country sensation Taylor Swift from the top spot, with her latest release Love Story falling to number five.

Rapper Flo Rida's Right Round makes it way to the number two position, while Brit girlband The Saturdays - who also released a single for Comic Relief - see their Just Can't Get Enough song sitting at number three.

Lady GaGa's second U.K. release made it to number four on download sales alone.

In the album charts, U2's tenth number one record No Line on the Horizon remains atop, holding off a greatest hits collection by singer Annie Lennox.

Former American Idol champion Kelly Clarkson has a new entry at number three with All I Ever Wanted.
