FACES REUNION IS BACK ON AS MCLAGAN, JONES AND WOOD MAKE SUMMER PLANS

THE FACES reunion is back on - but it has been reduced to just a couple of summer shows which may or may not include frontman ROD STEWART.

The group, consisting of Stewart, Ian McLagan, Kenney Jones and Ronnie Wood, reformed for a series of top secret rehearsals last year (08) and talk of a full tour followed.

But negotiations fell flat last month (Feb09), despite comments made by Wood just after Christmas (08), when he suggested all was well and the bandmates couldn't wait to hit the road.

Now McLagan is talking, and suggesting a Faces comeback could be limited to a handful of gigs.

He tells Billboard.com, "(The idea is) we do a couple shows and film it. Whether Rod (Stewart) wants to do that... I'm hoping he'll be into that 'cause it'll be such a lot of fun. It's what the three of us would like Rod to agree to.

"I'll get a call eventually, and maybe we'll do something in June or July, 'cause I don't want to do anything next year. I'm not gonna wait again... It's now or never! I've got my fingers crossed, but I'm not going to waste energy trying to make it happen. I've worked for 30 years trying to make it happen. It's now in the lap of the gods - or the hands of Rod, maybe."
