WINEHOUSE RETURNS TO BRITAIN

AMY WINEHOUSE has ended her sunshine break in the Caribbean, flying back to Britain on Sunday (01Mar09) after spending over two months on the island of St. Lucia.

The Back to Black hitmaker jetted to a luxury resort on the island in December (08) following numerous health problems throughout 2008, which included a stint in rehab and several prolonged stays in hospital.

Winehouse finally left her temporary home on the island on Saturday (28Feb09), arriving back in the U.K. capital early Sunday morning.

The star is now reportedly set to move into a new property in North London, away from her former home in the city's trendy Camden.

A source tells British newspaper the Daily Mirror, "Amy has had a wonderful two months living the high life in St Lucia and, of course, she's sad to be back to reality. But after getting her act together and staying off the drugs, she's determined to stay clean.

"Camden holds a lot of bad memories - especially the time spent there with (estranged husband) Blake (Fielder-Civil). So while she was away her mum Janis went house-hunting on Amy's behalf, looking at pads near her own. She found a Regency-style four-bedroom townhouse in a middle-class, suburban area in Barnet. Janis wants Amy close to her, so she can keep a strict eye on her daughter."
