PYLON STAR BEWLEY SUFFERS HEART ATTACK

PYLON founder RANDALL BEWLEY is in intensive care in Athens, Georgia after suffering a heart attack.

The guitarist and new wave cult figure suffered a cardiac arrest while driving near his home on Monday (23Feb09). His van drifted off the road and tipped over.

Bewley formed Pylon in 1979 with University of Georgia art students Michael Lachowski, Curtis Crowe and Vanessa Briscoe, and the group became part of the Athens music scene, which also included the B-52's and REM.
