GUNN OFFERS TO TAKE STREEP SHOPPING

TV style guru TIM GUNN is desperate to take MERYL STREEP shopping - to help the past Oscar winner and 2009 Best Actress nominee dress for success.

The Project Runway mentor and chief creative officer at Liz Claiborne Inc. insists Streep should take her fashion choices more seriously - because she has a great body.

Gunn, who co-hosted the Oscars pre-show telecast from the Kodak Theatre red carpet, says, "I am her biggest fan and I can't get enough of her, but... 'Meryl Streep, you need to accept responsibility for what you are wearing.'

"She is so smart, so stunning, and she has a great figure.

"Sometimes she gets it right, but more often she doesn't. The message she's sending is, 'I'm too smart for this and it doesn't matter to me what I'm wearing.' I want to say to her that it should matter to you."

And he suggests Streep should take a few fashion tips from her 2009 Best Actress rival Angelina Jolie.

He tells Eonline.com, "She's one who knows her body, understands how important silhouetted proportion is and getting your look right is. She always has a great fit.

"She's age appropriate and she's context appropriate. She has a sophistication yet a sexiness and she has a consistent polish."
