BALE'S MOTHER 'UPSET' OVER TAPED TIRADE

CHRISTIAN BALE's mother found herself willing her actor son to curb his violent temper as she listened to his recently leaked movie set rant.

An audio clip of Bale's intense four-minute tirade on the set of the forthcoming Terminator Salvation movie surfaced online on Tuesday (03Feb08).

The actor is heard angrily reprimanding and hurling abuse and expletives at assistant director Shane Hurlbut, who distracted him during a scene by walking onset twice.

The star's mother Jenny, 61, was devastated upon hearing the footage - and desperately wished her son could have controlled his anger.

She tells Britain's Daily Mirror, "I haven't spoken to Christian about it, but I have listened to most of it and he was clearly very angry. People might not realise that that is his temper, and they might understand a bit more.

"I wish he hadn't carried this on so long or so fiercely, it was upsetting to hear him.

"He is a perfectionist and if you are doing an intense scene and someone is spoiling a shot, it takes time to get it back. It sounds as if a lighting engineer got into the shot so I can understand his anger but not the length of the tirade."

Bale was arrested in London in July (08) over accusations he attacked his mother and sister Sharon at the city's Dorchester Hotel before the British premiere of The Dark Knight.
