TAKE THAT have attributed their hugely successful comeback to a night of heavy drinking and several rounds of vodka shots.
Take That leave St. Pancras station with Eurostar to Paris to celebrate the release of their new album 'The Circus'. London, England - 1.12.08
The boyband enjoyed chart success in the U.K. before parting ways in 1996 when singer Robbie Williams quit to pursue a solo career.
Ten years later, original members Gary Barlow, Jason Orange, Mark Owen and Howard Donald reformed the group - and went on to sell-out arena tours and release hit albums.
But it was only after a drinking session - following the filming of their documentary Take That: On The Record - that the fourpiece managed to work up the courage to give music another try.
Owen recalls, "We only came back to do the ten-year documentary and to talk about what had happened and where we were now. And because of the feedback we got off that, people started saying would we tour again? And then one night me, Gary and Howard went out for a drink - and we had a couple of drinks - and we thought, 'We can do it!'
"Basically we were a bit slopped up and we phoned Jay (Orange), I think he was at a wedding, and we said, 'Jay, Jay, we've got this brilliant idea, come back.'
"So he came back from the wedding at two in the morning, we went round to Gary?s house and we stayed up 'til six, envisioning it, getting all really excited. Then we went home and slept and then obviously when you wake up it was like, 'What have we decided to do?'"
And bandmate Donald agrees with Owen's version of events, adding: "It was Mr Smirnoff's fault!"
