JOE SATRIANI has warned COLDPLAY they're about to get served at the Grammy Awards - the guitar legend has hired a team of detectives to hand-deliver the band a plagiarism lawsuit.

Satriani filed a suit in U.S. federal court in December (08) alleging the Yellow hitmakers copied segments from his 2004 instrumental If I Could Fly to use in their 2008 hit track Viva La Vida.
Since then Satriani's legal team has been unsuccessful in its attempts to hand over the legal documents to the group.
But the guitarist - who has played with Sir Mick Jagger and Deep Purple - is determined to finally confront Chris Martin and his bandmates at the Grammy ceremony on Sunday (08Feb09), where they are nominated for seven gongs.
Satriani's attorney Howard King says, "We have warned their (Coldplay's) British lawyers that we have hired a fleet of process servers lined up to dog the band everywhere they go this weekend in the hopes of serving them."
King even claims camera crews will accompany the process servers so that Satriani's team will have recorded evidence of their efforts.
The event is due to take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
