OASIS LEAD NME AWARDS

British rockers OASIS are the toast of the British music scene after landing seven NME Awards nominations.

Oasis performs at the Heineken Music Hall, Amsterdam, The Netherlands - 21.01.09

The Wonderwall hitmakers lead the pack and they are shortlisted for the coveted Best British Band prize. They'll compete with Bloc Party, The Last Shadow Puppets, Muse and Radiohead.

Oasis, Muse and Radiohead will also fight it out for the Best Live Band honour, along with The Killers and Kings Of Leon.

Meanwhile, the band's Dig Out Your Soul is among the nominees for Best Album, and they're also up for the Best Video award for The Shock Of The Lightning.

Others in contention for the Best Album prize are Bloc Party's Intimacy, Glasvegas' self-titled debut, Day & Age by The Killers and Only By The Night by Kings Of Leon.
