SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE picked up momentum in its race towards Oscar glory by winning the top prize at the Producers Guild of America Awards.

The hit film's producer Christian Colson was awarded the Darryl F. Zanuck producer of the year gong at the prizegiving at the Hollywood Palladium on Saturday (24Jan09).
Danny Boyle's critically acclaimed movie, set in the slums of Mumbai, India, beat out competition from The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button, The Dark Knight, Frost/Nixon, and Milk.
Meanwhile, in TV, Tina Fey30 Rock.
Mad Men's Matthew Weiner and Scott Hornbacher walked away with the prize for television-drama, while Simon Chinn-produced Man on Wire took home the documentary theatrical motion picture gong.
