PERRY DENIES CELIBACY VOW

Singer KATY PERRY has laughed off reports she is planning a vow of celibacy for 2009 - insisting she would rather die than abstain from sex.

The I Kissed A Girl hitmaker split from Gym Class Heroes frontman Travis McCoy in December (08), and announced plans to remain celibate soon after, saying, "I've actually taken a vow of celibacy this year… no kissing anyone. Just my cat, Kitty Purry."

But Perry insists the comment was just a joke and she is determined to land herself a new man.

She tells People.com, "I am not going to be celibate. That was a joke, and any fine journalist would have got that. Please, celibacy for the whole year? I'd rather die."
