KILMER FUELS REPORTS OF POLITICAL RUN

VAL KILMER has fuelled reports he's bidding to become the next actor-turned-politician by running for office as New Mexico's next governor.

The Batman Forever star, 48, publicly voiced his political ambitions in November (08) with plans to have a sit down with California state governor, former actor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

And Kilmer admits his confidence has gotten a boost since the idea first came to fruition, thanks an onslaught of unexpected support.

He tells the New York Daily News, "It's not a job I ever thought about. But I have a lot of affection for my state. (Support for my running) has been bizarre and massive. (Current Governor) Bill Richardson said he thought I'd make a good governor. He can't really come out and support me while he's in office, can he?"
