Rocker NILS LOFGREN will unveil his new hips at the Super Bowl when the guitar great steps up to join BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN for the half-time performance.

Lofgren underwent a hip replacement late last year (09) in a bid to end years of pain to his damaged joints - and he has been off his feet ever since.
But the guitarist will make a triumphant return to the live stage on 1 February (09) when he performs at Super Bowl XLIII in Tampa, Florida - albeit a careful one, with his "bionic" hips.
The E Street Band star tells Billboard.com, "I'm coming along. I've lost the cane. I've lost the limp. I'm doing rehab. I'm just trying to be a good rehab patient. I've never had to be this cautious, 24-7 with my body, so it's a new adventure for me.
"But I've been assured that if I do the rehab right, in 10-to-12 months my body'll grow in, around and through these (hips) like roots and vines and lock 'em in as good as they're gonna get."
But he wasn't going to let the rehab get in the way of a once-in-a-lifetime performance on football's biggest stage.
He adds, "From me being a teen football player to joining the E Street Band 25 years ago... to the (Super Bowl bound Arizona) Cardinals, it's just a beautiful coming together of a lot of elements in my history that are really important to me."
