SWEETIN: 'I'M CLEAN AND SOBER'

Beloved former U.S. child star JODIE SWEETIN has hit back at reports she's struggling with substance abuse as she battles her husband for custody of their baby daughter.

Sweetin's estranged husband Cody Herpin has alleged in court papers that the former Full House star - a former methamphetamine and alcohol addict - has suffered a relapse in her recovery.

But Sweetin insists she's clean and sober.

In an exclusive interview with America's People magazine, she says, "There are a lot of things being said about my using that are not going on right now. I want to make it known that I am absolutely, 100 per cent sober."

But the actress has admitted she did have one relapse last summer (08) when she drank several glasses of wine with dinner.

She tells the publication, "I immediately called other people who are in recovery.

"Any slip for me is not good, but I didn't let it stall my progress. I could have just not said anything and brushed it under the rug. But that doesn't help me make different choices in the future."

But Herpin insists his estranged wife has had more than one relapse, and he's concerned about their nine-month-old daughter Zoie: "She has continuously broken her sobriety since Zoie was born."

Herpin has filed for sole custody of the child.

A court psychologist has testified that she doesn't believe Sweetin poses a threat to the child. Both sides have been ordered to undergo drug testing before an upcoming hearing on 9 February (09).
