RAPPER ROTH TACKLES FLIGHT 'BOMBER'

American rapper ASHER ROTH has been hailed as a hero after reportedly tackling a man claiming to have a bomb on a flight from Atlanta, Georgia to Los Angeles.

Roth, who has been name-checked on MTV's MCs to Watch in 2009 list, was aboard a flight on Wednesday (07Jan09) scheduled to land at Los Angeles International Airport on his way to appear on U.S. TV show Last Call With Carson Daly.

But the passengers were horrified after a passenger assaulted at least one cabin crew member and claimed to be carrying a bomb as the Delta Airlines flight was about to touch down, according to an FBI spokesperson.

And quick-witted passengers, including Roth and his guitarist Chris Llewellyn, tackled the man and subdued him by binding his wrists with plastic ties, according to the rapper's publicist.

The man was detained by FBI agents at the airport and is currently being interviewed by authorities in L.A. The FBI spokesperson states no bomb was found.
