Rockers KINGS OF LEON are relieved to see the end of the festive season - they insist Christmas Day is the most depressing 24 hours of the year.

The moody musicians dread Yuletide every December - but have devised the perfect way to banish their blues.

Bass player Jared Followill tells NME, "(It's) the most depressing day of the year after you've opened your presents."

But brother Nathan insists the best solution is "opening up some champagne and watching National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation".

And it's not all Scrooge-like in the Followills' family home during the holidays - Nathan once saw a group of men working on Christmas Day and gave them $100 (GBP67) each.
