British rockers KEANE's album PERFECT SYMMETRY has beaten out competition from COLDPLAY and KINGS OF LEON to be named 2008's best record, according to a new poll.

The trio's LP, its first since 2005's Under The Iron Sea, topped Britain's Q Magazine and Q Radio's best releases of the year (08) list.
Nick Cave + The Bad Seeds came second, with U.K. electro-folk group Goldfrapp taking the third spot on the coveted poll.
Earlier this year, Keane's first two albums - Hopes and Fears and Under the Iron Sea - were voted into Q magazine's Best British Albums Ever poll, sitting at number 13 and number eight respectively.
