HILTON: 'THIEF IS NOT A STRANGER'

PARIS HILTON fears she may be acquainted with the man who robbed her California mansion - because the thief knew the exact locations of her most precious belongings.

The intruder is believed to have forced his way through the front door of the property in Sherman Oaks on Friday (19Dec08) before ransacking the heiress' bedroom and making off with an estimated $2 million (GBP1.3 million) worth of gems.

And after reviewing her home surveillance footage, Hilton has come to the conclusion that it wasn't a stranger who committed the crime.

She tells E! News, "I think whoever did this definitely has been there before. We have some suspects that I'm thinking of."

But the star is convinced authorities will soon put the culprit behind bars.

She adds: "You know, it's just an invasion of privacy and it's happened to me before. It's really scary but they're doing a huge investigation on this and we're going to catch this person."
