MCCREADY 'DOING GREAT,' SAYS BROTHER

Troubled country music star MINDY McCREADY is 'doing great,' according to her younger brother, as she recovers from an apparent suicide attempt.

The 33-year-old singer was hospitalised at a Nashville hospital on Wednesday (17Dec08) after another brother, Timothy, discovered her in her bloody bed.

McCready appeared "very intoxicated" afterwards according to her sibling, who checked on the star after she made a bizarre call to their mother earlier that evening after a night out.

Police reports said McCready cut her wrists and took several pills in an alleged suicide attempt; she was subsequently treated at Centennial Medical Center, hospital officials confirmed.

And the singer's 28-year-old brother, Josh, tells People.com his sister is "is recovering just fine".

He adds, "Mindy's doing great. She's fine. She was hospitalised, but she's fine. She's good now."

Josh would not elaborate on what may have led to the alleged suicide attempt, but did confirm his sister is still under doctors' care.
