Singer JOHN LEGEND was so confident President-elect BARACK OBAMA would be heading to the White House after last month's (Nov08) election, he hired the V.I.P. suite of a hotel for friends to celebrate in.
The R+B star was a vocal supporter of the Democrat during his campaign, even starring in Black Eyed Peas star will.i.am's endorsement video Yes We Can.
Legend was sure Obama would triumph, and arranged a party for pals on the night of the election (04Nov08) - despite not knowing the outcome.
He tells MTV.com, "I was in Los Angeles with my band and a few friends (on election night). We were in the hotel, and I rented out the hotel VIP lounge, and we had the TV set up, had a bunch of drinks set up. We were just hoping we had something to celebrate. And we did."
