JAWS star RICHARD DREYFUSS claims his father and uncle owe him almost $4 million (GBP2.6 million) from an unpaid loan.
The actor filed suit in Los Angeles earlier this year (Aug08), claiming his family members owe him a whopping $870,000 (GBP580,000).
In documents Dreyfuss claims his father Norman and his uncle, Gilbert, asked him to help them save a family business in 1984 and he agreed. His uncle has since reportedly told his nephew that he would not get his hands on the money.
And now Dreyfuss has amended the lawsuit, claiming that their is further financial wrongdoing in relation to the case.
The amended lawsuit states Gilbert and Norman Dreyfuss may have diverted millions of dollars from a $6 million (GBP4 million) judgment they won against the state of California over a lease arrangement on their business' building.
The suit also declares the Dreyfuss brothers failed to properly repay a $13 million (GBP8.6 million) loan on the building, resulting in a lender starting foreclosure proceedings on the property.
Actor Dreyfuss is seeking to look at accounting records for the building, and repayment of the loan plus interest.
His uncle acknowledged he made mistakes in handling the judgment money, but said payments on the loan are current and he had used his own money to fight the case against the state and make improvements to the building.
