NEW HARVEY MILK VIDEO

Check out this amazing video that celebrates the release of Focus Features’ latest film Milk.

The video, entitled The Life of Harvey Milk: In the Footsteps of Gandhi and King, is a short documentary that interweaves the life of Harvey Milk with the human rights efforts of Gandhi and Martin Luther King.

Sean Penn star as Harvey Milk

Director: Gus Van Sant
Cast: Emile Hirsch, Diego Luna, James Franco, Josh Brolin, Sean Penn
Synopsis: Academy Award nominee Gus Van Sant directs Academy Award winner Sean Penn as gay-rights icon Harvey Milk. Mr. Milk (1930-1978) was an activist and politician, and the first openly gay man to be elected to public office in America; in 1977, he was voted to the city supervisors' board of San Francisco. The following year, both he and the city's mayor George Moscone were shot to death by another city supervisor, Dan White. Mr. Milk was previously the subject of the Academy Award-winning documentary feature 'The Times of Harvey Milk,' but 'Milk' is the first non-documentary feature to explore the man's life and career. 'Milk' is being filmed on location in San Francisco.

It’s time to celebrate! Last night the United States of America elected an African-American man the 44th President of the United States. Change is in the air, and it couldn’t have happened without a fight. Just like Barack Obama, Harvey Milk rallied for support from his fellow Americans to break down barriers and change our nation in a positive way. Focus Features has just released a short clip in support of their upcoming film Milk which highlights the fact that all men are created equal.
