WALL-E WINS ANOTHER AWARD

Animated film WALL-E has been given another major movie nod - it's been named one of the best movies of the year (08) by a prestigious film awards board.

The futuristic film, about a robot in space, was honoured by The American Film Institute's (AFI's) list of the year's best in film and television on Sunday night (14Dec08).

The family film is on a winning streak - it was handed the Best Film of The Year by the Los Angeles Film Critics last week (09Dec08).

The other movies on the top ten list were Clint Eastwood's Grand Torino, the Brad Pitt-starring The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Batman movie The Dark Knight, the historical drama Frost/Nixon; Frozen River, the comic book adventure Iron Man, the portrayal of politician Harvey Milk's life, Milk, Wendy and Lucy and Mickey Rourke's The Wrestler.

Honourees in the television category included U.S. hits The Wire, The Shield and The Office.

The winners of the AFI Awards, selected by industry professionals and critics, will be honoured at a luncheon next month (09Jan09).
