CULKIN'S SISTER STEPPED INTO TRAFFIC

MACAULAY CULKIN's sister DAKOTA died after she stepped in front of a car, police have confirmed.

The 29-year-old - the Home Alone star's elder sibling - stepped in front of a car in West Los Angeles just before 11pm on Tuesday (09Dec08), according to Los Angeles Police Department spokesman Richard French.

Culkin was rushed to UCLA hospital with massive head trauma and died the following day.

French adds: "The driver stopped, rendered aid, and identified himself as required by law. Detectives determined that the driver was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol and that no crime was committed."

A representative for the actor says, "This is a terrible tragic accident. We ask that the media respect the family's privacy during this difficult time."

Culkin, 28, has five other siblings: Shane, 32, actor Kieran, 26, Quinn, 24, Christian, 21, and actor Rory, 19.
