MURDER SUSPECT: 'RUFFALO DIED IN RUSSIAN ROULETTE GAME'

The prime suspect in the death of MARK RUFFALO's brother has told authorities the deceased shot himself in the head while playing a game of Russian Roulette.

Shaha Mishaal Adham, 26, turned herself in to the authorities on Monday (08Dec08) after California police issued an arrest warrant for attempted murder.

Scott Ruffalo died later that day after he was taken off life support in hospital, one week after he was found outside his home in Beverly Hills with a gunshot wound to the head.

Police spotted Adham in surveillance video footage taken at Ruffalo's condominium. Another man, Brian Scofield, has been declared a "person of interest" in the case.

Adham has confirmed she was present when Ruffalo was shot - but insists it was the hairdresser himself who pulled the trigger.

She also alleges Ruffalo was a regular cocaine user, who had played with guns in front of numerous witnesses in the past.

Adham's lawyer Ronald Richards tells the New York Daily News, "We expect the coroner's report to show the shooting was a result of the victim's chronic playing of Russian Roulette and his dangerous playing with firearms while under the use of controlled substances.

"My client was a good friend of the victim and is very sad for the loss of his family. However, she played no role whatsoever in his accidental death."

Lieutenant Tony Lee, a spokesperson for the Beverly Hills Police Department, could not comment on Adham's story, citing the ongoing investigation.

Meanwhile, the mourning Zodiac star has thanked fans for their support.

A statement released on Tuesday (09Dec08) by Ruffalo's representative reads: "Mark Ruffalo and his family deeply appreciate the outpouring of prayers and support during this most difficult time of the passing of Scott Ruffalo, beloved son, brother and husband.
