KNIGHT 'NEGOTIATING GREY'S ANATOMY EXIT'

Rumours surrounding T.R. KNIGHT's departure from GREY'S ANATOMY have resurfaced after multiple insiders confirmed the actor has asked show creator SHONDA RIMES to be released from his contract.

A spokesperson for the medical drama was on Monday (08Dec08) forced to deny an Internet report alleging Knight - who has played Dr George O'Malley since 2005 - had stormed off the programme's set and quit.

The rep told UsMagazine.com Knight had "never walked off set in the middle of filming... and will be shooting this week."

But the star, who is said to have three years left until his contract ends, is in fact negotiating his release with Rimes and TV network ABC, show insiders told the Associated Press and Entertainment Weekly on Tuesday (09Dec08).

An unnamed source tells EW.com, "They're working out the details (of his departure) now. He just feels it's time to move on."

An ABC spokesperson declined to comment on the new reports.
